Quick link: Love below the line & a little inconvenience
I’ve just posted over at Live Below the Line about a little inconvenience we’re facing & why we’re doing the Live Below the Line challenge.
We’re used to only occasionally having running water in our kitchen. It’s always cause for celebration when someone turns the tap on and water comes out, however we usually have water in the rest of the house. I can’t remember how long our water’s been off for this time, we just know our storage tank’s been empty for 4 days now, add that to very little power this week and we're starting to get a bit smelly there's not even a little novelty factor. We have to collect water for drinking, cooking, bathing, cleaning, flushing, dishes, washing hands, doing the ice bucket challenge. Everything takes longer. Yada, yada, yada... If we want to wash our clothes we have the choice of letting it all pile up til we're forced to wash by hand, or just sucking it up and washing them by hand anyway. We’ve made underwear our bottom line (yes, I realise that is unintentionally quite funny!), when we run out of knickers we’ll collect enough water to wash our clothes.

Please note: when you get to the end, I was wrong. We were teased by a short lived trickle, however most of us got to enjoy one satisfying flush out of it!
