Early days in Africa

Drew straight into making things...

The finished nunchuck!

We've wanted a big climbing tree for years, and now we have two! Even better still, they're mango trees! We've also got matoke (green banana) and pawpaw.

Lily's adjusting to her new life extremely well. She wasn't in the slightest bit phased by the hole in the ground toilets at Jordan House, she just got on with the 'job' as if that's the way she's always done it!

Our water tower is the new jungle gym. No OSH regulations here!

Pete thought he'd take a look up the tower & try to see if he could find the problem with our water supply. Some taps work, some don't - I'm fine with that, it would just be good if the ones that worked didn't keep changing! We've moved the washing machine 3 times so far trying to find a tap that works, but still have to fill it up with a bucket. Don't mind in the slightest though as we're so blessed to even have a washing machine, (and Petes the one doing the filling up!)

You need to iron everything here as flies & other insects can lay eggs on your washing. Riana actually offered to do all the ironing (except for the underwear!) She hasn't done it before & thinks it'll be fun. I'm really excited for her & hoping she enjoys it! Love my girl!

The kids LOVE the new yard - other than hunting for lizards, giant snails & trying to find snake holes (don't actually think that's what the holes are! Hoping not!) they love the new tree swing, & riding the bikes & playing in the hut we bought off a family returning to the US on our trip in September. I love the noise of happy play...

Oh, that's so good, Danielle! Glad the kids are enjoying their new yard! Mango trees are fantastic - especially when the fruit's ripe - yummy! Our older kids still go crazy over mangoes - whenever they can get their mouth on one...
Will pray for the water situation to get settled.
LOVE hearing from you - and seeing the photos!!!
Thanks so much for taking the time to share!
Would love your phone# sometime.
Blessings and love,
Isabel
