When you’re in the middle of life it’s easy to get so caught up in the busyness of it - that you forget to take time to think about how you're actually living it, and the legacy you’re passing on to the generations to come. Thinking about how and why we do things helps us become a bit more intentional in the way we live. When we spent a weekend celebrating my grandmothers 90th birthday recently it made me think about the legacy she’s passed on to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and even to those not yet born - and challenged me again about the legacy I'll be passing on. Riana and I wrote this poem about her which we then turned into altered art on hinged canvases for her present - no pics of it sorry, but it did turn out kinda cute!
LEGACY OF LOVE
Sweet like a box of chocolates,
Big heart - Generous spirit
Loving, kind and wise.
Precious like a pearl,
Beautiful like a rose.
A good old fashioned grandma,
Warm hugs-Big kisses.
Crocheted blankies, knitted toys, yummy red polonies.
Many reasons to love you,
All of them God sees.
If not for you we wouldn’t be here,
You were born – We were born.
God fearing, God loving, God serving.
We’re thankful for the love,
Grateful for the legacy.

We had such a fun weekend with family coming from far & wide. A 1920s picnic in the park, followed by a Royal Celebration themed dinner @ Gordon Castle! Church together the next morning, then Easter egg painting, hunting and rolling. Finished off the next day with a lazy afternoon & fish n chips at the beach.

We're SO glad you could be there too! It was cool to finally meet Lily and Liam. Our Lily's been praying for 'cousin Lily' most mornings - so she should be having sweet days!
