Capture life 365

Sooo… here I am. Blogging failure extraordinaire returns. Apparently, I’m not supermom. I know, I’m shocked too! Not that I ever thought I was, but one can always try…… and fail miserably. I’ve particularly struggled with keeping up with everything this last year, and just got plain worn down. Blog posts regularly float around in my head, but never end up being typed due to the guilt of not writing for so long that an amazing comeback post is definitely necessitated and the one in my head isn’t it. Be amazed folks. This is the comeback - I know, pretty astounding so far. I’m not even returning with great tales of where I’ve been, nor exciting stories of what on Gods green earth has been more important than blogging - but simply trying to sneak back in unnoticed and pick up where I left off. I don’t even know if that’s legal.  I’m such a rebel.

After holding auditions for my own personal 2014 mini x-factor, several things have made the cut and landed in this years ‘I really want to make a go of this’ list. They’re not set in concrete resolutions, but are things that are important enough to me for various reasons that I want to try and make them happen. One of them is blogging again – thus this masterpiece post that I know will leave you wondering how you survived without my blogging prowess for so long. Another is intentionally recording the messy, hard, joyous, mundane, impossible and downright beautiful chaos that is my life. Everyday. In 365 pictures over 365 days, I want to try to capture what this season in my life looks like. I want to find the joy in the mess, the good in the hard and the beauty in the mundane.

I’m starting off by using photo prompts from a list I adapted from the net – I’m telling myself I have grace to not stick to the list, and shock, horror – even if my perfectionist tendencies try to hold me to taking a photo every.single.day - if I miss a day and catch up another day, or don’t catch up at all, that’s going to be ok! I’m making this work for me. My life isn’t going to be over if I mess it up. Or so the phlegmatics tell me.

Every Sunday (as long as our power’s on!) I’ll be posting my week of pics here. If you want to be Capture life 365 buddies with me and record 7 photos a week of what your life looks like right now – either using a list of prompts or not, I’d love to have a look, so feel free to post a link in the comments as often as you like!

Now, without further ado, here is week one – only 5 photos for those counting, because we’re only 5 days into the new year!

1 new  new – New flavour of chocolate brought over with mum from New Zealand and saved 3 months to be tested out on New Years Day. Self control at it’s finest I’d say!2 garden1

G is for – garden. Pete and Drew checking on the beans and maize.

3 my town 2

my town – always captured by it’s rustic and raw beauty.

Word to live by – my one word for 2014.

found – mango fly maggot in our itty bitty kittens lip. I may or may not have also squeezed one of these out of one of my human babies stomach in the last few weeks. Yep, I’m amazing.

Love the comeback - I need one of those too and am in the exact position - super mom I am not and blogging always falls by the wayside. You've inspired me to get it going again, even if it's not fabulous! :) Glad I found you via a life overseas - we're in Tanzania near Kilimanjaro. I'm looking forward to keeping up with you! (but not in a creeper, stalker sort of way… in the completely-normal-we're-both-overseas-type-of-way) :)
